2012 - Regarding College Counseling and Prep Michele, Thanks again for taking the time today to discuss your student who applied to Johns Hopkins. I wanted to repeat what I told you earlier (so your colleagues
don't think you're making things up), that I was really impressed when reading the apps from Corona del Mar about
how conscientious your counseling staff was in preparing your Secondary School Reports. It's very clear to admissions
readers that you know the students well and that you're very careful about which boxes to check. Again, I can't tell
you how helpful this is not only for us readers, but also for your students who benefit from having a very clear
and individual picture drawn of their qualifications. I know it's not easy when you have large caseloads and lots
of high achievers. Yours, Lester Lester K. Su Reader, Undergraduate Admissions Associate
Research Professor, Mechanical Engineering Johns Hopkins University 3400 N. Charles St. Baltimore, MD 21218 Testimonial
To Kathy Hath (CDM High School Counselor), Thanks
for all the input. I am really impressed with the individual attention you give each student. Sincerely, Anne Kent
Testimonial Dear Foundation, I would just like to personally thank you for all of your hard
work and for all of your amazingly helpful events you've provided CDM students. I transferred from the East Coast mid-semester
last year, and the counseling staff, especially Ms.Hath, made my transition to CDM incredible and easy! Part of that was due
to excellent counseling, but the other part was due to the availability of the counselors to personally see every student.
At my old school, a visit with my counselor would be nearly impossible to schedule, and I honestly cannot even tell you my
old counselors name. Being able to stop by the counseling office and ask Ms. Hath a quick question has been unbelievably helpful,
especially with college approaching quickly. The college prep CDM students receive is astonishingly awesome. Events like
College Day have eased my stressful attitude about applying to college. Most schools, like my old one, leave students to fend
for themselves when it comes to college. That is definitely not the case at CDM. Once again, thank you so much
for helping CDM students like me feel prepared for college and providing me with an amazing school! Sincerely, Ali Hummelberg (CDM student)

Testimonial Dear CDM Foundation: I know that you are in
charge of the CDM Foundation and that the Foundation pays for CDM to have an extra counselor for the students. I would like
to express my deepest gratitude on behalf of my senior student and our family. My son/daughter has never been at the top of
his class and although he works hard, he barely made it to the X.X GPA that is so highly regarded in the college system. For
9th-11th grade he had a X.XX. We had always planned on a 4 year college education for him, but both he, and we, were discouraged
and worried. However, the blessing for us was our son’s counselor, Mrs. Kathy Hath. She has worked with him over the
years to keep him on track with his goal. She told him over and over that there WAS a 4-year college for him and that they
would find it. She was the voice of empowerment and encouragement. She had the heart and the skills that guided him to success.
Often, a parent’s efforts are not well received or are ineffective, as I am sure you know. Mrs. Hath nurtured our son’s
dream of a 4-year college and also prodded him to apply EARLY to the UC system; that this would increase his chance of success.
She went over a list of colleges with him, explaining the process, and giving him insight into each campus. He followed her
advice and all of his applications were completed in October. We could now only wait and hope. The exciting news is that our
boy was accepted to 3 Cal State campuses AND his “dream” school which was out-of-state. We look upon these 4 acceptances
as a huge victory for our son and he would not have done it without Mrs. Hath’s wonderful guidance. We would like to
thank the Foundation for providing the funds that enable CDM to sufficient counselors so that they can have the valuable time
to focus on the students who might otherwise slip through the cracks. Instead of OCC, our boy is on his way to a wonderful
4 year college! What a blessing! Thank you and the Foundation for your part in our success story. We are so appreciative of
all of you. Warmly,A CDM Parent

Testimonial I just wanted to drop you a note and let you know how happy my husband and I are that our contribution
to the Foundation helps support the counseling department at CdM. We have had the great experience of working with Kathy Hath
on a few issues, and are well aware that the counselor provided by the foundation allows for smaller caseloads, which in turn
allows the counselors more time to spend with each family. With all the issues our kids face these days, it is great to have
these resources available. Also, thanks for all your work on behalf of CdM. It can be a thankless job, but you have our thanks!!
Happy New Year A CDM Parent
